Over the course of his highly accomplished career within the beauty industry, Jim Markham has founded four successful hair care companies, each one more successful than the one before – Sebring®, Markham®, ABBA® Pure and Natural, and his most recent endeavor, PureOlogy Serious Colour Care®, the first premium, award winning line of products exclusively for color-treated hair, which he sold to L’Oreal in 2007. He has owned a sizable part of Alterna® Haircare since 2005, which compliments his portfolio of the finest, high quality products.

With the increasing success of each company, Jim Markham is admired for his talents as an innovative product developer and a highly acclaimed businessman. Today he is best known for developing high performance products worldwide, pioneering natural based products, creating the color care category, and revolutionizing the way that color-treated hair is cared for.

Markham has received countless prestigious accolades for his business acumen in addition to awards for the products that he has created, including Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in the consumer products category. In 2007 Markham was inducted into its Hall of Fame (on display in Rockefeller Center, New York), along with the Orange County Business Journal and ICMAD (Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors) Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2007 he was the 12th inductee into the Professional Beauty Association’s (PBA) North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) Hall of Leaders where he was acknowledged for his outstanding and lifelong achievements within the industry.

During Markham’s time at PureOlogy the product line won numerous prestigious awards in packaging and performance, including Health & Beauty America (HBA) “Company of the Year: Excellence in Packaging,”’s Stylist Choice Award and Health Magazine for “Favorite Colour Protecting Products” Hydrate System and “Favorite Conditioner” Hydrate Condition, Allure Magazine Editors voted Hydrate Shampoo the 2005 Best Shampoo for Colour Treated Hair, LaunchPad Magazine’s 2005 Reader’s Choice Award for “Best Colour Protecting Shampoo” and “Best Gel,” Salon Plus Magazine’s 2005 Editor’s Choice for “Best Colour Care Products” and “Best Intensive Treatment.”
